EDM 696: Hillwood Boys Club

That this House congratulates Hillwood Boys Club and their founder, William Smith, on their outstanding contribution to community youth football for over 55 years; notes that some of our country's footballing legends, including Kenny Burns, Alex McLeish, Tommy Coyne, Bobby Hutchinson, Owen Coyle, Sandy Stewart, David McCracken, Peter Macdonald, Ross McCormack, Jon-Paul McGovern, Connor McGlinchey, and Gary Fisher developed their footballing prowess there; further notes that it has been a place of community growth and development in the later part of the 20th and now well into the 21st century, helping to bring families and friends together in a common pursuit of success for the club; and recognises that it provides not only an opportunity for players of all talents, ages, sex, gender, faith and race the chance to exercise, bond and develop but also helps in assisting the young people of the club into future employment opportunities and skills development through business associations.
