EDM 62: Contribution of lidos

That this House celebrates the contribution to the UK's health, wellbeing and heritage made by lidos; notes with concern the significant financial challenges being faced by the sector, principally due to energy costs but also as a result of ongoing maintenance to heritage assets and required capital investment; notes that environmental sustainability for lidos can be achieved while lowering energy costs; recognises that lidos are run by a variety of organisations including local government and the third sector; and calls on the Government to explore options to secure the long-term financial and environmental sustainability of lidos.
